In the fall of 1986 Vicki started Eagle Publishing with a typewriter and phone line. During the day she sold ads, at night she wrote and laid out pages. By spring, a family resource guide was in the hands of local parents. Every year it grew.

A contract with GTE in the early years took the company to the next level. Vicki had the good fortune of working on the first three years of Washington state’s tourism guide, where she acquired invaluable knowledge about the travel industry and a national start-up. Also during this time, Eagle Publishing launched its second new publication—a resource guide for seniors.

With a working knowledge of the travel industry, the next couple years were spent working on the Alaska Air and Horizon Air inflight magazines, honing the company’s publishing mastery and preparing for their third launch—a regional parenting magazine.

Northwest Woman, the last Eagle Publishing start up was founded several years after and sold in 2005 so the company could delve into the popular new trend of custom publishing with the launch of internationally distributed Asian Fabric magazine for Kona Bay Fabrics. And in 2009, Vicki is launching yet another Eagle Publishing product—the Casino Travel Handbook.
